Hoddom Castle Caravan Park & Campsite offers camping, self catering, touring and glamping in a stunning part of Scotland. Whether you choose to pitch your own tent or stay in one of ours, we are sure you will have a fantastic break away. the park is in a convenient location in the heart of south west Scotland, Hoddom Castle Caravan and Camping Park can be found in partially wooded parkland in the grounds of a 16th Century Border Keep forming part of the 10,000 acre Hoddom and Kinmount Estates.
To the north and east is the River Annan and Hoddom Castle Golf Course - providing just some of the many activities available.
Hoddom Castle Caravan Park is well equipped with normal facilities such as toilets, showers, electric hook-ups, shop, launderette - we also have the following:

Washing facilities.
Bar & restaurant.
Laundry.
Now that you have decided where to stay, you get to do the fun part and decide what you are going to stay in.
For those who are bringing their own tent or tourer, you will find that this is a well-equipped site with fully modernised facilities. It has been landscaped so that caravans and tents blend with the peace and beauty of the surrounding countryside. Hardstanding, electric and non electric pitches available.
The Chill Pods are perfect for those who want a little more luxurious camping. Especially in the cooler months. Inside each pod there is either a large double bed and 2 singles, or just a large double bed. Each pod has lighting and an electric socket for charging accessories and small heaters. Each pod has double opening windows and a stable door to let some cool air flow through on the warmer days. Outside the door are 2 seats and timber decking. Paving slabs for barbecues are situated on the decking to avoid burning the decking. The Pods are situated 30 yards from the shower and toilet block and the shop are no more than 60 yards away. Your cars can be parked next to the pods but if the weather is wet, we ask that you leave your cars on the car park next to the pods.
Our Kelo Lodges are truly wonderful and have been specifically built for Hoddom. The main building is a traditional Finnish Kota, finished inside with a handmade bed from Lapland. The bed is made from very special wood from the Kelo tree. These trees are from the edge of the arctic circle where they grow for up to 200 years before they die. Once they die they don't fall down, the bark falls off and the tree continues to season while still standing. These are called 'snags'. They are then harvested after about 20 years of seasoning. The children will love sleeping up in the bunk and a space is provided below the bunk for a blow up bed etc (not provided) as another sleeping space if need be. A double electric socket will be in each lodge for charging of accessories. All you need to bring is sleeping bags and pillows or either a king size sheet and your own duvet if you want to feel more at home. You will also need your usual cooking equipment such as pots, pans, cutlery and mugs.
New for summer 2022 are our bell tents. Go camping without the fuss of having to put up the tent when you arrive, just bring yourselves and your camping gear, turn up and start to enjoy your holiday and make wonderful memories together! The bell tent is supplied with carpets, and 4 camp beds ready for your arrival. Please note, the Bell Tent is currently non electric for 2022 season. All you will need to bring is either sleeping bags and pillows, or duvets and pillows depending on your preference, as well as cooking and eating utensils.
If you are wanting to stay with family members who prefer the comfort of bricks and mortar, we also have a self catering cottage just a 10 minute drive from the park.
Hoddom Castle Caravan Park & Campsite is just 1 hours drive from the heart of the Lake District, Galloway and The Borders and 2 hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The caravan site is ideally situated being only 5 minutes from the M6 and M74 motorways and is the perfect base for exploring Dumfries and further afield.
