Castle Farm Holidays is in the small hamlet of Dudleston, near Ellesmere in Shropshire, offering superb glamping accommodation in a beautiful part of the country. We are situated in idyllic location and the perfect base to explore the local area.
We offer lovely accommodation in 4 cosy, wooden, well insulated pods and 1 shepherd hut.
Willow pod sleeps up to 4 people and had a hot tub too.
Willow, Beech and Oak sleep up to 4 people in each pod, and come with a mattress and daytime seating which turns into a bed for the night. We supply a kettle, toaster microwave , heater and fridge. You just need to bring your bedding, towels and anything else you would normally take camping.
Ash pod is our cosy pod for 2 people, it has a comfy double bed with bedding supplied , all the above electrical equipment and a small settee , an ideal spot for relaxing, unwinding or reading a good book. Facilities include a heater, kettle, fridge and microwave. You will need to bring towels and any other camping equipment.
Bluebell our cosy shepherd hut sleeps up to 4 people, had a comfy double bed, a daybed/settee, small table and chairs, all bedding, crockery, cutlery and glasses are provided along with the above electrical equipment, ideal if you do not wish to pack too much into your car.
Each glamping unit has an outdoor picnic table for you to enjoy your meals outside.
Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits are ready for your arrival in all the pods/shepherd hut.
Dogs are very welcome here too and we also have a separate field they are very welcome to have a run in too.
All the pods and the shepherd's hut have use of modern onsite heated shower/toilet facilities with a shared lounge room at the end to relax in.
The lovely market town of Ellesmere is situated between the beautiful mere(lake) and the Shropshire/Llangollen Canal, surrounded by 9 meres evolved from the iceage. Stroll through the Cremorne Gardens (pushchair and wheelchair friendly) and make friends with the ducks.
For children who like to meet the the animals, there is a great farm park, at Whittington, the world famous Chester Zoo.
Nearby are the National Trust properties of Chirk Castle, Erddig Hall (Nr Wrexham), Attingham Park (Shrewsbury) and Powis Castle (Welshpool). On our doorstep is the Welsh town of Llangollen on the banks of the River Dee, it is famous for the International Eisteddford, horse drawn canal boat rides and its steam railway. Thomas the Tank engine and friends visit here sometimes. Llangollen also has the remains of Dinas Bran Castle, Valle Crucis Abbey, the Horseshoe Falls and the Horseshoe Pass one of the most spectacular drives in Wales. At Llanrhaedr Ym Mochant there is the spectacular Pistyll Rhaedr- the tallest waterfall in Wales. Well worth the climb!
We have under taken "Good to Go Covid training". For Summer 2020, we just had 3 of our 5 units on offer, this ensured that each unit was allocated its own separate shower/toilet facilities, to comply with social distancing.
