Eden Valley Glamping offers unique glamping accommodation in the picturesque village of Armathwaite, near Carlisle. Set in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley, the site is surrounded by stunning countryside with a wide range of scenic walking and cycling routes right on the doorstep.
Guests can choose from two characterful railway carriages and three luxury glamping pods, all set within a peaceful rural location. A spacious communal camp kitchen provides excellent shared facilities, making Eden Valley Glamping the perfect retreat for those seeking comfort, charm and outdoor adventure in Cumbria.
Glamping Pods
Croglin and Melmerby each sleep up to 4 guests and come with a king size double bed, a double sofa bed, a bathroom and table and chairs. Kitchen appliances include a fridge with a freezer compartment, Belfast sink, 1 ring induction hob, microwave, kettle and a toaster. Outside there are two outdoor chairs with cushions and a BBQ/firepit. A lovely spot for a morning coffee whilst the sun is rising. Cross Fell comes with the same facilities and sleeps up to 5 guests in a bunk bed, a freestanding single fold out chair bed and a double sofa bed.
Railway Carriages
Henrietta is a charming timber-built replica railway carriage, beautifully designed to reflect the character of traditional railway travel, complete with an arched roof, classic empire green finish and even a working communication cord. Styled with subtle Art Deco touches, the carriage offers a cosy lounge and dining area with a well-equipped kitchenette, woodburning stove and central heating, a bathroom with a double-ended bath and shower attachment, and a comfortable double bedroom with storage and linens provided. Outside, guests can relax in a private fenced seating area with a firepit and barbecue overlooking the sheep field, or enjoy refreshments on the platform while taking in the stunning valley views.
Clarabel is a characterful railway carriage inspired by a traditional brake van, retaining unique features such as the distinctive oriel window once used by guards to observe the train. Styled with an industrial theme that reflects its heritage while ensuring modern comfort, the carriage offers a cosy lounge with a well-equipped kitchenette, woodburning stove and Bluetooth radio, a comfortable double bedroom with valley views and a charming window seat, and a bathroom with a double-ended bath and shower. Outside, guests can relax in a private fenced seating area with a firepit and barbecue overlooking the sheep field and beautiful Eden Valley countryside.
Camp Kitchen & Other Facilities
All guests have access to the camp kitchen which has a spacious open plan kitchen/diner/lounge and a shower/WC with disabled access. The well-insulated building comes with a wood-burning stove and an integral potato oven. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge has a range of indoor and outdoor games available including skittles and boul. Outside we even have a tropical hangout which includes a freestanding hammock for up to 3 people. There is a wood fired pizza oven available and a fire pit area. We also have a sauna which is suitable for six people, this is available for private hire on request.
Fishing is available in the river but a license is needed.
